GIANT YVES KLEIN ALL OUT ATTACK -- with Witness Relocation
Exit Art, NYC
April 21, 2012
In an homage to Yves Klein’s Anthropométries, action painting, and the monster battle films of Godzilla, Dan Safer and Mike Mikos of Witness Relocation drink around 6 shots of whiskey, cover themselves in paint, and wrestle on a giant canvas. The canvas is displayed on a wall as evidence of the physical action that transpired on it, with a video of the event projected on it, the bottle of whiskey, and the paint splattered wrestling costumes. Performed by Dan Safer and Mike Mikos. Video/ projection by Kaz Phillips Safer.

CRISIS + SYNCHRONICITY -- Solo show

In C+S, fragments of the last five years of Kaz Phillips Safer’s film and video work were intercut and collided to create a visual kaleidoscope of an artists evolution, as well as the parallel tracks of a theatrical video designer/ filmmaker.
